I have been to Barcelona before and stayed in a fine hotel..not a ton of character..just of the Ramblas...anyone have suggestions of a favorite place in barcelona?

I had a good stay at this place two weeks ago: http://www.montecarlobcn.com/en It's ranked number two at Trip Advisor, and they have cheap rates on singles rooms. Located in the middle of the Ramblas.

If you want something maybe more out of the rumble of the Ramblas, we stayed here: http://www.hotelsilver.com/en_index.html It is straight up the main street that becomes the Ramblas, close to a metro station, and in a neighborhood that is a little quieter and has a nice mix of restaurants and markets nearby. We chose this place since we were there for a week and rooms have a little kitchenette, a fridge was important. Rates are very good, it was clean, secure, and quiet.
