I am traveling solo to Barcelona for 4 nights but don't want to get stuck on a "no window" room so I'm willing to pay a bit more if necessary. No car so it will need to be city center. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You might try Hotel Jazz, located right near Placa Catalunya, and highly rated on Tripadvisor. I just did a test booking for a single room and they offered a "Jazz" room. This is how they are described on the website: "All Jazz Rooms are street facing, looking out onto Calle Pelai and Ronda Universidad, or face a garden patio. These rooms are warm and modern, featuring free WiFi access, and are equipped with all the basics, in addition to full private bath and exclusive amenities." The rate for one person in July, with advance booking, is 111 euro a night.
