Barcelona Hotel (2 nights for family of 4)

We are going with our children also and booked at the Eric Vogel Gran Via Suites. It received high marks on Trip advisor.

We loved the Rick Pic; Hotel Continental. Our double was $110 EU/nite, it was an easy walk from the airport bus stop at Placa Catalunya, 24 hr free food and beverages (great advantage for kids, and the beer and wine for Mom and Dad!), and right on Las Ramblas. Check it our on trip advisor.

Thank you for your replies! Its helpful to have a recommendation from other family travelers! Unfortunately there is no availability at Erik Vokel for our travel dates. Looks like a really nice place though! We were actually looking at Hotel Continental, the reservation form is quite funny. Looks like an online casino gaming room :) The parking is quite steep, 22 euros/night. However internet & 24 hr buffet breakfast is really great, so gotta weight it all out. We were actually considering also Holiday Inn express outside of Barcelona, only 43 euro/night for our family. Includes breakfast and free parking. There's an internet charge but also its 25 mins from the center of Barcelona. Anyway, a lot to consider as we're on a budget traveling. Thanks again for your help and recommendations!

I stayed at Aparthotel Bertran during a recent trip (there were 3 of us). It's not "fancy" but it has a small kitchenette, is next to a little grocery store, has a couple of decent restaurants within a block or two, and is about a 7 minute walk to the Tibidabo metro. I don't think I'd recommend it unless you're more than 2 people on a budget, but it might be right for you. It's not a "super nice" neighborhood but it felt safe to me. The price was certainly right.
