What's the best way to get to this hotel from the airport? We prefer to take public transportation.

Hey, great hotel, and a great part of town, but a bit of a pain to get to from the airport if heavily loaded. If you insist on using only public transportation to get there, take the train from the airport to El Clot d'Aragó, from there, transfer to the metro (subway) and take the purple line (L2) to La Pau (three stops dir. Pep Ventura) at La Pau, switch to the yellow line (L4) and go another 3 stops to Maresme Fòrum. From there you are about 400 meters away by foot.
Personally, I'd take the train to El Clot and from there spend €5 on a taxi directly to the front door of the hotel.
Diagonal Mar is right in front of a trolly stop, and that is a great (and oft-forgotten) way to see the city. You are also fairly near (easy walking distance) to the Parc de la Ciutadella which is a great place to soak up local ambiance. Check out el Born (neighborhood) for tapas and such. Have a great trip.
