Barcelona - Day Trip - Montserrat Figueras and/or Cadaques

I have one day I'd like to go out of Barcelona and return at the end of the day because we're going to Amsterdam the next day.

I'm not sure where the day trip should be. They all sound great! Monserrat, Figueras (Dali Museum), Cadaques (Dali house) are the choices. I don't know if you can do the Dali House and Museum in the same day or is Monserrat a better experience overall.

When I travelled to Paris, I wondered if we could do Versailles and Chartres in the same day trip. We ended up having enough time to do both on different days, but it would be possible if you were willing to go at 100% from early morning to late night.

I'd like to hear recommendations and you think would be best. Thanks!

Randall...We were fortunate enough to do "all the above" last October and yes, Figueras and Cadaques are doable on the same day. It just makes for a very long day. I loved them both. But my pick would have to be Montserrat. Obviously, if you're into Dali, you don't want to pass on that wonderful opportunity.

If you do choose Montserrat, purchase your tickets at the Plaza (Placa) de Catalunya TI. You have a choice on transportation up the mountain once you arrive at Mont. Hands down, go with the cable car, not the rack rail. BTW, if you're taking the train from Plaza de Espanya, sit on the left hand side...better views. Enjoy!

I did the Cadaques and Figueras in a day with a group...Cadaques is very remote, the drive is specatcular, and the setting amazing....I did not go in the museum at Figueras, but did explore the surroundings...very interesting. We also stopped by Cape De Rouge - a fantastic garden on the cliffs in the same general area.
