Where might I look to find an apartment in Barcelona besides cross-pollinate, VRBO and Rick Steves' book? I'm particularly looking in the Gracia neighborhood, as it's close enough to town, yet not right in the most expensive/noisy areas. Gracias!
Laura i used friendlyrentals.com, i was satisfied
with the apartment and the service. They have apartment
in all areas of BCN. My sister used vrbo for her upcoming
trip and she is happy so far.
Good luck!
We use either VRBO or Homelidays.com for our EU apt rentals, with very good results.
Martine, Steve:
Thank you for your ideas! I will check these out.
We used loquo.com for all our Spain apt rentals. Very happy with where we stayed in BCN and Madrid.
We stayed in a two bedroom apartment about a block or two from Sagrada Familia, really reasonable prices, shops across the street. www.mhapartments.com
The photos on the web site show exactly what the apt. looked like. We'd stay there again, great apt., great location.
Laurie and Barbara, thank you so much. I will check out these resources as well. It gets a little tiring to do so much legwork, but it is so nice to hear from others who are willing to be helpful with their knowledge.
So, thank you to all for your ideas! We're getting very excited about going!
Also check www.tripadvisor.com - they have a new section "Vacation Rentals". When renting an apartment, be sure to ask about extra fees (linen fees, cleaning fee) and any fees for early/late check-in.
