Do you have any recommendations for places to stay in Barcelona and Venice?
We stayed at Hotel Al Codega while in Venice. While not the cheapest offering, it was a well kept place on a small courtyard. The location was ideal. Very close to, and about halfway between St Mark's and the Rialto. The Rialto vaporetto/Alilaguna stop(we took the Alilaguna from the Airport) was very close and we didn't kill ourselves transporting the luggage. Because it is in the courtyard, it's away from the bustle, but also hard to find (but most everything is, your first time in Venice). While this was perfect for location, there is a real peaceful nature about the less touristy neighborhoods of Venice. If I went again, I would seek that out, but I have no qualms recommending Al Codega at all.

Two of my favorite cities. How long are you staying in each city? We rented apartments in both and it was great. vrbo.com for Venice, and easysleep barcelona for barcelona. Lovely apartments, great price. When are you going?
