Im not an expert yet (I will go to Barcelona in April)... but I read alot about the great hiking in the mountains/national-parks nearby (day trips?) ALso the famous Monestary I think is in or near those parks (Monseratt?) Check out the "Best Destinations" section on this website under Spain... lists side trips in the area that might help...
