Barcelona accommodations

I plan to be in Barcelona for four nights in mid-July. Any recommendations for an inexpensive place to stay? I don't need any frills, just clean, safe, central location, although I don't know the city at all.

Try Priceline in the La Rambla - La Barceloneta area. We got a 4 star hotel for €80 or so last July that was well located within a few blocks of La Rambla.
