Barcelona's Picasso Museum

Anyone know if Barcelona's Picasso Museum is so hopelessly crowded on the first Sunday of each month - when admission is free - that it makes more sense to purchase tickets for a different day? Thanks all.

I don't know about Sunday, but if you're considering a different day, look into the Articket (http://www.articketbcn.org/en/index). It lets you skip the line at seven museums (usually, just head to the front and find a ticket taker, and show your pass), and it's good for three months. I went to the museum late on a Thursday afternoon (5 p.m.) and walked right in. It was full but not overwhelming. I'd suspect it will be less crowded on Sunday later in the day (it's open until 8 p.m.) but free generally means crowded. Double check their website about times- it currently lists several other free days (might correspond with your trip?) as well as bank holiday closures.
