I will be going to Barcelona with my brother this march. We are 18 and 20 years old, respectively. We have not been to Barcelona or any of eruope. What would you recommed we do? We like to stay up late, dance, drink, and look at art. Any good day trips near Barcelona you guys enjoyed? Any advice would be appreciated. thanks
As the previous writer stated those are all great things to do. Also, you can take the train down the Sitges. It is a BEAUTIFUL sea town on the Med. We stayed there for a week in 07. It is about 40 minutes by train to Barcelona. Also, places like Tosa de Mar and Gerona. But you may need a car for those places. I loved Barcelona and would go back in a second.
hi abraham, well if you like art you will love barcelona. we went to the picasso museum and loved it, lots of gaudi's architecture in barcelona, we went to the sagrada familia, casa mila and the parc güell. you have to go to las ramblas wich is the main strip and there is lots of bars to enjoy, and try to stop by to la boqueria, which is a market with all kinds of fresh food. for day trips, we went to montserrat, it is easy to access with public transport from barcelona, but they also have day tours. we went to a winery and a champagne winery in the penedes valley, they also have day tours to that from barcelona. if you are a football/soccer fan you might want to go see the fc barcalona, we went and had a great time!
la boqueria. Agree you should see this place but do NOT eat there. IMO too many "tourist trap" restaurants. Many a good eateries in anyone of the multiple side street cafes though.
If you like to stay up late, dance and drink the entire city of Barcelona is just that! Just steer clear of the touristy areas and you'll find fun clubs and great restaurants.
When we were there 3 years ago, I asked one of the employees from a paper store where to go. She was a 20-something and I asked where she goes after work... and she gave us directions to a great place. Unfortunately I can tell you by site and not by name.
