Barajas Madrid Airport

The Aerocity door-to-door shuttle will be your best bet for a group with luggage…quickest and least expensive. Check them out online or at the Go Madrid website under the transport tab (then click on Aerocity). Reserve and pay online before your trip. I used them last November...inexpensive, clean vans, professional drivers, and on-time both ways.

Travelling on the Metro is manageable if each of you only have a piece of luggage to carry. From Barajas to downtown (Sol Metro Stop) will only cost you one Euro each. However understand that in navigating the Metro stations, you have to take escalators, stairs and hallways which could prove to be trying of you are carrying luggage especially during peak travel times (rush hour, AM/PM).

And you may need to change metro trains, depending on your destination in Madrid. If you have a lot of luggage with your traveling group, that may be a bit cumbersome. If you do go with Aerocity, your cost should be about €8 per person paid to driver (reserve online with CC but pay driver). For 5 people, it’s not a shared shuttle…non-stop to your hotel. For that many people definitely use a service.Having luggage on the metro in Madrid can be real drag.Lots of stairs, distances between platforms when you change lines is WAY further than you might think.

I definitely recommened the aerocity van service. I have used it as well as the Metro. For your group, the van will be the best deal. It is easy to find...when you exit the customs area and are in the lobby of the terminal, turn to the right and go aboud 1/2 block. You will pass a restaurant on the right and there will be a neon Pharmacia Sign on the wall. Look to your left and the Aerocity Van booth is at the glass doors to the outside. Make the reservation before you leave the states. Have a great trip!
