we are going to be on orders to come to bamberg in july and I am confused as to how much euros are worth in US dollars. I am so wanting to know where do I go if I want to find a used car? Craigslist is not much help for europe. I am especially seeking help from army spouses who are living on base in bamberg and working for AAFES possibly. thanks.

Stars and Stripes newspaper is online, so you can get a lot of information there, especially car sales. The Euro and dollar rate changes on a daily basis, so we cannot tell you what it is worth in July. Do you not have a sponsor who can help you with these questions? Army Europe has its own websites. Here is the one for the Wiesbaden area, so I imagine Bamberg has one too.

You may be able to buy a used car from a GI being posted back to the states who's not taking his car home. Other than that, used cars are being bought and sold just like in this country. You're so lucky, Bamberg is beautiful and a university town.
