Hello. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where the luggage/baggage claim area is at CDG? I want to take the train into Paris and it is in a terminal (2). (I have the info on taking the train from CDG to Paris.) In the U.S.A. all baggage claims and transportation are outside the terminals. I just don't understand. I'm sure there is a way, but I'm not finding it online. Thank you!!
Customs is nothing. It is a walk through provided you chose the door that says, Nothing to Declare. Immigrations will take more time since they will check your passport and ask a couple of questions. Like, "Why are you visiting?" "On Holiday !" I am sure you can goggle CDS and get a map of the airport. It is huge.
Stacy, You may find it very helpful to have a look at This Website. It provides an excellent tutorial on navigating around CDG, including pictures. From what I remember of my last trip through CDG, they'll probably announce which Carousel the luggage from your flight will be appearing on. The information will also be displayed on electronic notice boards. There are a number of Carousels so there's no way to predict which one will be used. Watch the others from your flight (or ask one of them), as I'm sure they'll know where to go. You'll have to collect your luggage before going through Passport control. Cheers!
I am not understanding the question. Baggage claims in the US are inside the terminals or are you saying outside of security. Not sure why that is significant. Signs will direct you to baggage claim. Baggage claim and transportation in Europe airports is very similar to US airports.
In the terminal. You'll come to it before you get to immigration/customs which is before you enter into the concourse that goes to the station.
Ed: Thank you. Yeah I was thinking that we would have to get our luggage before getting out of customs because they check our bags with us. Ok. I have never gone on an international flight and I am so fuzzy on the details. Thank you for your help. My concern is that I will have to go far away from the RER station (and Terminal 2) and come back.
I'm just an over planner. lol :) Trying to figure out how long to be in the airport before I go into Paris. I have only a day and a half there and want to make the most. Thank you.
