Does anyone know how to a catch a bus back to Baden Baden if hiking down from Merkur mountain to a small village in the area?

Karen, I guess that would really depend on the location of the "small village in the area". If you would be more specific with your hike (there are MANY trails) you can e-mail the Baden-Baden Convention & Visitors Office: [email protected] They are really great with such questions. I hope you have a great time. I have taken many trails down the Merkur and the hikes have been just beautiful.

Buses 204 & 205 go to the foot of the Merkur Bergbahn at Merkurwald.
If you come down the Merkur south to Lichtental, bus 201 goes from there into B-B. If you come down east into Staufenberg, bus 244 will take you back to B-B.
I suggest you get a map, find a village, then enter it into the schedule finder at www.kvv.de (Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund).
