Bacharach accommodation?

I have contacted a number of pensions in Bacharach but as we are 4 adults looking for 2 double rooms complete with shower and toilet, a number of the rooms are full. Would appreciate all the help we can get regarding Pensions that Traveler's have stayed at. We would prefer a quiet area if possible. Thank you.

I have tried the Malerwinkel but they are full. I heard some negative reviews regarding Pension Lettie and there washrooms in the rooms. Would appreciate anyother suggestions if possible.

Ed, go to www.bacharach.de. At first you can view the website in English, but the Gastgeberverzeichnis (host list) is in German. However, I think it is pretty self-explanatory. If you need help, PM me. Many of the hotels give email addresses. Based on my experience there a few years ago, this is one of the areas where "everyone" truly does speak English.

I wish I could help you more, but in the place where I stayed for a week, a private home in Boppard, I never heard a word of English.

Try also St. Goar, www.st-goar.de. St. Goar and Bacharach are only 10 minutes apart by train.

We stayed at Pension Lettie last summer. There were 4 in my group (1 adult, 3 teenagers). We shared a large 2-room with bath. We liked the location, cleanliness, roominess, breakfast, and helpfulness of Lettie. We had no problems with our 2 night stay.

Will you consider a bath down the hall? Since a lot of North Americans expect en suite toilets/showers, they are priced higher and fill up faster.

Thanks again for the replies. Brad the shower down the hall would be ok but the toilet would have to be in the room per my wife request.

Stayed with Lettie for 2 nights in July 2007. No issues at all.

She is a Very Nice person, who tries hard to please.

ED,

My wife and I stayed at Lettie's for 3 nights two weeks ago and found the accomodations very good and reasonable. Lettie is very personable, friendly and serves a great breakfast. We would stay at her Pension again in a minute.
