B&B or small hotels in Munich?

My friend and I will be in Munich for a few days next spring and would like to stay somewhere that is interesting and reasonable. Any suggestions?

Marybeth,

You might have a look at This Hotel in Munich. It's reasonably close to the station, the staff are wonderful and they have awesome breakfasts!

Happy travels!

I don't have the website on me, but look up Pension Siebel. Maybe not the most interesting place to stay, but the price is reasonable and it sits a stones throw away from the Viktulienmarkt.

Hotel Uhland...booked! Thanks all. The only part of my travels that I didn't have Rick's book for was Germany but I obviously need it - that is on order as well. Thanks again.

I would second the hotel Uhland. We just stayed there last week. It's across the street from the Oktoberfest grounds - about 3-4 blocks from the train station. The room we had was the biggest one we had in Europe and the bathroom was huge. The staff were super friendly and helpful and they had free internet and breakfast. The breakfast is a buffet style and is very good.

One more personal recommendation for Hotel Uhland, although I should mention another place that is often recommended here: Wombat’s Hostel. Both are highly rated. Uhland is reasonably priced, and Wombat’s is very economical. Check both of them out on line.

Try Hotel Ludwig across from the train station. Stayed there with 23 fam and friends. Good hotel, good location. Check their web site for specifics.

MaryBeth,

Glad to hear that you're all booked at Hotel Uhland. I always enjoy the breakfasts there, and make sure I "fill up" for the day.

Have a great time in Munich (just thinking about the city makes me wish I had a trip planned)!

Happy travels!

Hello Marybeth,
I was in Munich for 3 days last June. Our group of 5 stayed at Zevatt Bed and Breakfast. The Zevatt are great hosts, they speak good English, full of information and good suggestions. Great Breakfast. The rates are reasonalbe. We loved it. In a good neighborhood. You have to make a train and bus connections to get there, but the bus stops right in front of their house. Here is there website:

You can find lots of reviews on TripAdvisvor.
There is a nice Beer Garden in walking distant, Franziskaner Garten.
