Does anyone have ideas for nice sweet places to stay in Loire Valley? We are traveling through for three nites and plan to stay 2 nights on one end and one night on the other of the valley before heading back to Paris. We are 2 families (one of two adults and the other of 2 adults and one teen) making it a bit of a challenge. We are traveling by car.
Try La Flânerie B&B in Cour-Cheverny. http://www.laflanerie.com They have only two rooms and both are reasonably-priced family rooms. If available, this B&B would be ideal for you. The owner Paul is a sweetheart and is used to Canadian guests. Being so small, availability will be an issue... Nearby is an alternative: Le Béguinage B&B
http://www.lebeguinage.fr Both are handy to the chateaus of Cheverny (2 min), Chambord, Blois, Chaumont, Amboise and Chenonceau (40 min) Good luck!
We really enjoyed La Roserie in Chenonceux. It is a small hotel close enough to the chateau that you can walk there. The restaurant is also very good.
Second Hotel La Roseraie recommendation. Free parking and walking distance to the Chateau. For a delicious meal plan on dinner at the Hotel. You will need to make reservations for dining as many locals eat there and the seating is limited.
