I am looking for an awesome Bed and Breakfast in western Germany along the Netherlands border for a honeymoon trip. Maybe somewhere west of the Cologne area in a classic old German, Belgium or Holland town? Any help would be appreciated.
Monschau is a really gorgeous old-world town south of Aachen near the Belgian border. Check the 4 pages of photos here: http://www.monschau.de/tourist-information/bildergalerie.php?bereich=Altstadt Not sure about which B&B but you can probably find a nice place here: http://www.monschau.de/tourist-information/uebernachtungen.php
I've used www.bed-and-breakfast.de a couple of times and have been very pleased.
There is a castle in the Netherlands north west of the Ruhrgebeit just over the river from Germany, a few km from Arnhem. The rooms are in round towers. Budget needs consideration. If budget ok and location OK I can look out the details. Not far from a very old windmill and a very tasty modern yet classic pancake restaurant.
Duisburg is close to Belgium and the Netherlands and located only 35 miles NW of Cologne.
The place I was was speaking of is Huis Bergh . If you follow the link, the rooms for rent are in the tower on the far left side of the photo on the home page. We haven't stayed there, we stayed nearby as it was booked, but we have walked all over it and the extensive grounds.
