B & B in St. Goar?

My favorite place to stay in Sankt Goar is the family owned Hotel Hauser. It's just downhill about a half block from the train station. It's a Rick Steves recommendation (at least in the 2003 Germany book).

For 25 euros per person per night (in shoulder season, if you pay in cash) you can have a nice clean and quiet double room with bathroom and a great balcony view of the Rhein. No TV in room.

Frau Velich and her staff do a great job of making a stay there very pleasant. They serve a pretty decent breakfast that is included in the room price. (Juice, luncheon meats, great bread, coffee, and cheese).

Their restaurant is pretty popular for lunch and supper also. Last year we met a couple that lives in Bacharach who makes special trips to St. Goar just to eat there.

I'll be there again in 4 days! Can barely wait! :-)

Stayed at the B&B bei Alex this summer. Nice, quiet, about $50 or $55 euros, if I recall. It's about a 5 minute walk outside of the main part of town with a view of the castle.
