We are going to be in Paris at New Years, 2011 and would like to visit Normandy. Does anyone have a suggestion for a nice B & B in the Normandy area. We love to be amongst the locals, so that would be preferred. Thank you.
In the Spring of 2008, we stayed in a lovely B&B right near Mont Saint Michel, that was recommended by Rick Steves. We enjoyed it very much. (I'm not sure if they're open in January, though.) Here's the info: Les Vieilles Digues 68, Route du Mont Saint Michel 50170 BEAUVOIR Tel : 00 33 2 33 58 55 30 Internet : www.bnb-normandy.com

in March 2010 we stayed at LaJacotiere, near MontSaintMichel, which is also in RS book. It's a converted farm house and the owner is wonderful. After we made our reservations she got a doctor appointment for that day and took no more reservations for that day. Consequently we were the only guests. For breakfast she made us french toast in addition to the normal breads, rolls, hams, cheese, home made jams, served. She also pointed us to a more scenic drive to our next destination which we really appreciated. It was a great stay! You can check reviews on tripadvisor.com.
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Tardif in Bayeaux...although the name suggests that it is a hotel, it is really more like a B&B. A beautiful historic home, gracious host Antony, perfect location. Recommended by Rick and also rated very high on Trip Advisor. Highly recommend!!
We also stayed in Bayeux one night at Le Tardif,Noble Guesthouse. We were travelling a circular route from Paris returning to Paris, and stayed one night in each town, in addition to other stops. Le Tardif is a great place to stay. Beautiful house and gardens and a place to park your car. Breakfast is family style and it was very pleasant to meet and chat with people from other countries over breakfast.
