My husband and I plan to be in the Burgundy area towards the end of September. Does anyone have any suggestions for a B&B just outside of Beaune?
Type the terms "gites" and "France" into an internet search engine. Another combination would be the terms "chambres d'hotes" and "France". You will be presented with the websites of organizations that promote B&B's in France. Do plenty of research before choosing a company or a specific B&B.
And you can best do research by looking at reviews on Tripadvisor.com and Venere.com
I've stayed at La Maison des Abeilles with my parents and highly recommend this place. (http://maison-des-abeilles.pagesperso-orange.fr/fra/index.htm) The rooms are very clean and Jocelyn is an excellent hostess. It's very peaceful and in a beautiful setting. Only problem is that credit cards are not accepted.
It is not outside of Beaune - just on the edge, but Les Jardins de Lois was one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed at in Europe. If you go to Trip Advisor, it is #1 on the B&B list. I did the review on April 2, 2009. It ia also a working winery and you will get a personal wine tasting if you wish. I bought 12 bottles of their wine and brought it home. It was one of thpse places you never forget. They make you feel at home. It is not cheap though.
Thanks - Bill
We've stayed at an awesome castle B&B just an hour north of Beaune.
