My husband are traveling to France and are looking for a nice B&B outside Avignon. Somewhere in the countryside yet easy to get to.
Google logis-de-france Avignon and see what comes up. Logis de France are small, family-run hotels & inns all over France. Sometimes there are some right in the smaller towns & cities, but often they are outside by some kilometers.
I highly recommend La Bastide Sainte Anne, a spectacular B&B we stayed at last year. The breakfast terrace overlooks the Pont-du-Gard and it's in a tranquil country setting, within walking distance of the delightful village of Castillon-du-Gard. 30 min. from Avignon in a great central location - 10 min. from Uzes which we particularly enjoyed. Outstanding breakfasts and warm hospitality (and an indoor swimming pool to boot!). PM me if you'd like more info.
The Mas d'Oleandre just outside Uzes is a wonderful B&B, with superbly hospitable hosts. It's just outside Uzes, which I agree with Roy is a very neat town - particularly the old town center. If you do make it to Uzes, consider eating at l'Artemise. Not cheap but the food is awesome.
