I'm having trouble locating boat rental information for the azores. Just looking for a small motorboat. I am an experienced boat driver (Boatswains Mate in the USCG). Does anyone have a link to a company that might rent a small boat? Not looking for a chartered yacht, etc. Thanks!
This may be a good place to start - http://www.visitazores.com/en/ata/services/services_list/nautical-activities/santa-maria/robert-paul-michael-minderlein Good luck!
Have no idea of the name of the company, but there's a bunch of 18-22's for rent in the Horta marina (west side by the finger piers). If that doesn't work, go up the main drag (east-west, perpendicular to the marina) to the legendary, world-famous, obligatory stop, not-to-be-missed-at-any-cost Peter Cafe Sport. Those guys know/do everything. Don't get so entertained that you forget to ask your question.
Thanks so much for the help. Any idea how much they cost for an 18foot motorboat?
Sorry, no idea at all. Just remember noticing them as I walked back and forth from my slip to the marina office and showers. You might try to see if Peter's has a web site and drop them a note. That crowd is legendarily helpful in cruising circles. I'm pretty sure the correct name (at least the one over the door) is what I posted before. If I've got the name right, the logo will probably have a sperm whale on it.
