Has anyone out there actually traveled to Portugal and Spain during the first half of May? If so what was the temperatures like and what type of clothing do you recommend for that time of the year.

Just check any of the weather sites for averages temperatures. We dress the same way we always do which is a series of light layers of clothing that can be added or subtracted as needed.

I was there last year during the final week in April and the first three weeks in May (one week in Barcelona for the Spanish GP) and it rained virtually every single day, the worst rain being in Barcelona, Madrid and Lisbon. At that time of the year a good light weight rain jacket with a hood and warm sweaters are you best friends...I lacked both and paid the price!
