How necessary is it to reserve seats in advance on the Madrid to Sevilla AVE train on a Friday night? Can I just do it 3 or 4 days in advance when I arrive in Spain?
Sorry OP and Frank - if not clear - if you know there will be adequate provision on this 'Friday night' (?) you are brighter than I. Go ahead and not purchase in advance - I would rather have peace of mind.
All seating is reserved seating. Purchase at the earliest opportunity, who can know the demand from those who have not thought as you have?
No sure what Neil is trying to say. Unless it is a special weekend you will have no problems getting a seat. Frequent service with lots of capacity. Since we had the senior discount cards we always bought our ticket the day of travel and never had a problem.
If you are not eligible for senior discounts you can still save around 50 euros per ticket by buying 62 days in advance on Renfe.
