Austria or Amsterdam....

We are going to be in Europe end of March 2008, and we wondering weather to spend 3 days in Amsterdam or Austria.
If Austria, its going to be Slazburg for a day and Innsbruck for 2 days.
I need ideas on this? Suggestions?

Salzburg for one day and Innesbruck for two days ? I wouldn't bother, you won't be there long enough to enjoy the places. On the other hand three days in Amsterdam can give you a good appreciation of the city.

Husband and I had 3 days in Amsterdam the spring of 2006, and it wasn't enough for us...we're going back this March, for a whole week.
The VanGogh museum, Rijksmuseum, and Anne Frank house again, and then a side trip to Haarlam (Franz Hals museum and Corrie tenBoom museum), and Belgium, and anything else we can manage.
The Dutch people are very friendly and speak English. The food--especially the cheese--is great.

This is such a personal question! You haven't given much to go on, so I can only suggest on the following rule of thumb.

If after all your research you are evenly divided about Amsterdam versus Austria, chose the one that fits best with the rest of your trip logistically.

If you will be there for a short time where you go depends on where you arrive. If you are coming into Europe in London or Paris Amsterdam makes sense. If Rome or Milan Austria does. Also depends on your preferences. If it is mountains and scenery Austria wins hands down.
