I am going to Vienna from July 8-14. I have from the 14th to the 25th (leaving from Amsterdam). I know that I want to spend the weekend 22-25th in Amsterdam, but not sure what to do between the 14th and 22nd.

Have you bought any of Rick's books on Germany/ Austria/ Switzerland/ Belgium/ Netherlands/ Luxemburg yet? What are your interests?
With the 14th through the 21st available you've got a nice piece of time and almost limitless options.

Thanks for your reply. I have purchased books on Budapest, Austria and Prague, and Croatia. I was thinking Budapest, Krakow, and Prague (I have already been to Prague, but my friend I am with has not). What do you think?

Knowing that, with the 14th through the 21st open, going to Budapest, Prague, Krakow -- then fast (or overnight) train to Amsterdam could be workable.
Go to www.bahn.de to sort out train travel times (assuming you are traveling by train).
That trip is a little fast, and a little crowded, but that trio of destinations are nice ones, and I think Budapest is a particularly nice compliment following a week in Vienna -- and it sounds like you are young and durable -- so moving quickly doesn't sound like it bothers you.
