Austria - Boat trip from Melk to Linz

Does anyone know if you can take a boat from Melk down the river to Linz? We were hoping to spend a couple of nights in Melk and then heading on down to Linz and then on to Salzburg via rental car. If so, are they passenger only boats or are there those that take autos?

I would skip the boat and just drive. It's such a beautiful area along the river and then you can stop where you lease. I would also suggest driving to Hallstatt. That was amazing !
