So started in Munich and ending in Munich. Flying out at 1130am so should stay somewhere in Munich-Augsberg area. any suggestions to make last night memorable? any special small town with 1-1.5 hours of airport? Thanks

We liked our "last night by the airport" in Erding. It's about 20 minutes from Munich airport. Nice old town. We stayed at the Best Western Park Hotel in Erding. From here it's just a 5 minute walk into the old town center.

I have a favorite place in the eastern suburgs of Munich, and it has good access by S-Bahn to the airport in the morning. I always stay there, but they don't speak any English and don't want tourists who can't. So I won't recommend them.
However, the town of Freising is near the airport, and has good access. If I had a friend that wanted a good place in the Munich area for a last night before flying out, I would recommend Freising. I think Gary Mc, who posts on this website, likes Zur Gred, in Freising.
When I first visited Munich, on business, the office manager for our company took us out for a tour of Munich, and the first place he took us to was Weihenstephen brewery, in Freising. It is supposedly the oldest brewery in the world.
