I emailed this hotel, in Mont St. Michel, for reservations. They replied that they have a room in Les Logis du Chapeau Blanca. Has anyone stayed there? They want me to get the half-board, which I think means that we eat supper at the hotel. I am tempted to do that since we will be there in off, off season in February. Has anyone done that or have any ideas about it?
I stayed at Auberge St. Pierre, although I could not comment on Les Logis du Chapeau Blanca. I found the Auberge reasonable and adequate, if not spectacular. By law, you are not required to eat at your hotel, even though they try to convince you. Most of the restaurants on the Mont seemed nearly identical. The exception is Restaurant le St. Michel. If this place is open in February, eat there! This was probably the best mid-priced meal I've ever had in France. Although the meals at your hotel probably won't be bad (is there such thing as a bad meal in France?), I would NOT lock into eating at the Auberge if Restaurant le St. Michel is open.
