I am planning a two week trip to Switzerland this fall. Are ATMs plentful in Switzerland and is there any problem exchanging USD for CHF? Afterall, Switzerland is the banking capital of the world!

ATMs are very plentiful in Switzerland.
Exchange rate today is: 1.00 CHF = 0.962649 USD.

Plenty of ATMs in Switzerland. Just a side note that many tourist hotels and restaurants and shops will exchange Euros for Swiss Francs. You will not like the exchange rate. I didn't see too many places that offered to exchange dollars for Swiss Francs.
My favorite first place to hit the ATM coming from Italy to the Berner Oberland is the Spiez train station where you WILL change trains. Often, you only have about 12-15 minutes before you are on the train into Interlaken Ost. But, that is enough time to run around to the other side of the small train station and withdraw Swiss Francs from the ATM that is located there (at least it used to be).
