Don't go to Paris without the latest Rick Steves' Paris guidebook. I'm not a salesman for them, but really, they have all the transportation information you need, about the RER train, the Roissey bus, shuttle vans, and taxis. I have had friends who take the RER and like it. I have used a door to door van service and took a taxi once.
go out and get the book now, and you will have all the information you need.
Thank You. I will go out to Barnes & Noble tomorrow!
Taxi from CDG to central Paris is about €60. Train is easy and cheaper. But if you have a lot of luggage or cranky kids, taxi may be worth considering.
If you decide to take the RER and Metro, go to www.ratp.fr to download and print a Metro/RER map for central Paris and a RER map that shows service to outlying zones, including CDG and Orly. Use the Journey Planner to get a suggested route to the station closest to your hotel.
Metro and RER in Paris is one of the best I have ever experienced.
