What's the best way to get by train from Arles to Tours? I'm figuring I'll have to go through Marseilles, but I'm finding the French train website really confusing. Thanks!

Use the German rail site for schedules--it is much easier. I'd be surprised if you need to go via Marseilles, but expect you will have to go through Paris and change stations.

We found recently when doing this leg (we did it in reverse Tours to Avignon), we had to go back to Paris from Tours and then to Avignon. Ludicrous when you think we were a third of the way to Avignon. Only in France!!

Adam is on the money. I just checked the dbahn site, which I should have done before my earl-ier reply. There is a regional train from Arles to Tours. Change in Lyon.
