I would like to stay in a medium priced hotel in central Vienna so we can walk to shops and restaurants. My mom can't walk too much so it would be good if we are right in the thick of things. What streets are recommended? Ideally, the hotel has breakfast and free internet too. THANKS!

We had a nice stay at Zur Wiener Staatstopher with very nice breakfasts and centrally located in 2008

Do you have a copy of RS Vienna Guide Book yet? If so, good. If not, I would suggest that you get one as it is full of good suggestions that we used when we visited there.

You need to stay in old part for sure. Medium price for old part is about 175-200 USD. perhsps cking for gd rates w/ expedia or sim consolidator would give you a better chance. i just returned and stayed at Hotel Astoria right in middle of almost everything in pedistrian zone. No breakfast was incl and it was 175USD per night by expedia. Hopefully you are going non-peak season. gd luck. or increase your budget it will be well worth it. You can always breakfast at the cconer cafe or fast food stop.
