Are Versailles Gardens open on Mondays in the winter?

We will be in Paris in November and would like to visit the Versailles Gardens on a Monday. According to the Versailles website, the Gardens are open daily year-round. However, in Rick's 2013 Paris book it states that the Gardens are closed on Mondays from Nov-March. Has anyone visited just the Gardens on a Monday in Nov-Mar and can verify for me that they are indeed open? I tend to believe the Versailles website, but would love some confirmation. Thanks!

I visited in winter 2012 on a Monday. Gardens were open. Little train and golf cart rentals were not open. Neither were restaurants. Didn't see the vendors we'd seen when the palace was open either. Perhaps that's what the RS guide refers to?

The gardens may be open, but theres not much to see, many of the statues are covered to protect them from weather, there are no flowers( not that there are alot in the formal gardens anyways, but the gardens behind the Grand Trianon are lovely flower gardens in season)
It may likely be cold and or rainy.. so really perhaps not worth visiting if you only plan on visiting gardens and grounds. And of COURSE you should listen to the Offical Versailles website . I refer to offical websites for all upto date information as information can change and guide books are updated only once a year. I think perhaps the thing is confusion in what Rick and Versailles means by gardens.. The grounds of Versailles are HUGE and much of it is public park, its always open. Rick may mean the Formal Gardens behind the palace( which as I said , will not be very enticing at best)

As someone who loves the gardens, I say go if the weather is good. If this might be your only opportunity to see Versailles, you'll still be amazed at how enormous the chateau is and how overwhelming it is. The gardens have never been about seeing flowers like you might in an English garden, it's about granduer and opulence. The Trianons and Hamlet are worth seeing from the exteriors. If the weather is bad, then you might skip it as you'll be outside the entire time.
