Are there tulips yet?

My husband and I are going to be in The Netherlands on Easter weekend and I am wondering if the tulips will be blooming yet. Is anyone there right now? Anyone been in recent years and can tell me how it looks the first week of April? Thanks for the help.

The fields in the polderland may just about sprout by then, but you probably won't see the full bloom. This winter was colder than normal, so that tends to delay the bloom. You may or may not see the colours as you drive by.

If Keukenhof is open, you should be able to see plenty of tulips there. Many of their flowers are grown in greenhouses and replanted outside, so winter and early spring conditions have less of an effect.

The weather here in Frankfurt has been fantastic for the last week and a half. The daffodils are blooming, the crocuses and snowdrops are blooming, the tulips are up and almost ready in every park I walk through.

Everyone is walking around in the sun without jackets and the cafe tables outside are packed! The flower stores are filled with blooms from the Netherlands, so my guess is that the fields are blooming. Tulips, daffodils, narcisses, and lovely smelling Hyacinths.

Last Sunday I was talked out going to see the tulips by the TI in Amsterdam. For the price, she said I would be disappointed. Cold winters. However, she expected that in two weeks from our discussion they would be beautiful. That should be close to your trip.

Thanks again for all the help. We are getting close, and we can't wait. It sounds like we should be able to see something at least in the Keukenhof. I'm so glad, since tulips were part of the reason we chose The Netherlands for this trip.

You are going to see Holland in all its glory!! The country will be awash in color and will absolutely take your breath away. After visiting Keukenhof, take the time to drive to Kinderdyk. There are many windmills there and it's a lot of fun.
If you'd like any other info about Holland, let me know. I lived there for three years and could give you lots of ideas.

Hi. My friends just returned from a river cruise in Holland. Unfortunately, due to a very cold winter, not many tulips to be seen. They had a great time despite the lack of tulips. Hopefully, by Easter things will be better.
