Arcos or Ronda?

Hi,
Does anyone ahve any suggestions on whether we would be better having a week in Arcos or in Ronda. We will already have been to Seville but I'd quite like to go to Jerez. I'm sure we'll visit both whichever we stay in.
We'd like to stay somewhere where we can just wander around for a few days, coffees etc with day trips probably every second day.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers
Louise

Research what is there to see. Do a google search for 'Arcos sights'; do the same for Jerez and Ronda. You will then know better where you want to stay.

Personally, I'm not sure I could spent an entire week in either town, even with daytrips. You may want to consider splitting the week between the two. Arcos will have fewer tourists jamming the streets during the daytime, with plenty of small hill towns scattered around, plus put you within easy range of Tarifa. Ronda will put you closer to places along the coast like Mijas Costa, Malaga (definitely worth a visit to the old part of the city, despite what Rick says), Nerja, and Granada.

I agree with Norm. We visited both Arcos and Ronda in early October, and while we enjoyed both thoroughy, I think a week is too much time there - a day or two each (at the most) would be adequate. That said, if I had to pick one over the other to be based in (or even if I had to skip one over the other), I'd pick Arcos hands down. Ronda's very nice too, but Arcos was better IMHO.

This may not answer your question....I have never been to Arcos and only so far done day trips to Ronda. I have spent 3 nights in Jerez. I could easily stay longer in Ronda but probabaly only a couple of nights, and are very slow travellers. Jerez I could have happily stayed a bit longer but 3 nights was good.
