Is it possible to travel from Arcos de la Frontera to Cordoba without a car? Thank you!
Sure, you can always catch a bus. Their bus system is great. I haven't been in the Arcos bus station but every station I visited in Spain had an information booth with an English speaker who can help you pick the best choice and book your ticket. It's cheap and advance reservations are not needed. I normally buy my ticket the afternoon/evening before so I know when to be at the station to catch my bus, but even that isn't required.
This was just what I was hoping to hear! Thanks so much!
Obviously cannot be sure why you are asking so - I hope you are not looking at this as a day trip at about four hours each way.
Planning to come from Seville, and want to spend an overnight in either Arcos de la Frontera or Ronda, then head to Cordoba for a few days, and finally end in Madrid! While we're on the subject anyone have any preference between Arcos de la Frontera or Ronda? Thanks!
We chose Ronda and Jerez and skipped Arcos. Ronda was a nice choice. It has a few features that gave it the edge - the gorge, bridge, and stairs/"cave" to the bottom of the gorge, as well as the historic Plaza de Toro - over Arcos in our book. We also really enjoyed Jerez. We wanted to tour Bodegas but don't travel with reservations or a fixed itinerary. Every Bodega in wine regions around Spain wanted (at least a day) advance reservations to visit. We did manage to tour the wine museum (a former Bodega) in Valdepenas. Jerez is the only place that had regular tours without reservations.
I thought there was much more to see in Ronda than in Arcos. I went to Arcos by bus as a day trip from Jerez. I spent the better part of 2 days in Ronda. There is a wine "museum" that is interesting and has tastings too, generous ones at that.
