My mother has mobility issues so we will be arriving at the Arc de Triomphe by taxi. Does anyone know where exactly the taxi will let us off? Will we still need to take the walkway over? I'm assuming we will need to take the walkway but I just want to confirm. Thanks!

I believe that Rick Steve's website has a section under "Graffitti Wall" that provides an organization that can help disabled travelers, and answer questions.Personally, took my M-I-law, at age 86 to the Arc de T., your cab will probably drop you off near the slope-ing underground passage way, there is an elevator that will take you up "most of the way", then there are 26 or so steps to physically traverse to get out to the top of Arch to see Champs E. don't have my RS guidebook, going by memory, so I could be wrong. Hope your Mom will enjoy it.
By the way, she was using a walker that also has a seat to occasionally stop and sit on and rest. This seemed to in able her to get all over Paris. A wheel-chair would probably work as well.
Look under ...Accessible Europe....under Graffiti Wall.
That last info was not quite correct.Go to favorite Links, scroll to the bottom, you'll find under Special Interest....Mobility International..... I think this may help. Hopefully this will be my last post on this topic!
Jim, THANK YOU for all your help! My mom will have a walker with the seat so I'm glad to hear that worked well in your situation. I appreciate you taking time to answer. Kristen
