Hi, I was thinking of renting an aptmt. in the Bastille, 11th AR, close to the Bastille Metro..on Rue de la Roquette.
I did a Google search regarding this AR...not much info. avail. Has anyone rented an aptmt. in this AR? Was it
a positive experience? Is this area bustling...lots of people, cars, busy nightlife?...and very noisy day & night?

Bastille area, in the past few years has become trendy, so there is lots of night life, many, many restaurants and cafés, and a great street market on Sunday morning. Very noisy day & night? Well, if the apartment isn't above a bar or restaurant you should be OK. But Paris is a big city so you can expect noise. The Promenade Plantée is at Bastille, and of course the "new" Opera house.

Rue de la Roquette is a minor thoroughfare through the 11th, but not very busy at night. The area has a lot of diversity - Several of the scenes, including the the Pure Cafe, in "Before Sunset" were filmed there.
You can use the "Street View" feature on Google Maps and take a tour of the apartment's neighborhood.
