What is the etiquette relating to applause at a ballet performance in Paris, or in Europe in general?

Hi Mark,
No need to worry; I just attended a ballet performance at the Palais Garnier in Paris while I was there in June.
Applause would spontaneously erupt from the audience at all the appropriate moments.
It's just like we would do it here; you will not have any doubt about whether you should applaud when the time comes.
Attending a performance at the Garnier is not to be missed!
