apartments in grindelwald - any specific feedback

Lesley, for a 4night stay you may do better with apartments that are connected to a hotel. Many private apartments are by the week only. I believe I mentioned the apartment at Hotel Residence before. This is moderately priced. My first choice, however, would be the apartment at Hotel Gletschergarten. We have not found a vacancy there, but the owners were very warm and friendly during the inquiry process. People who have stayed there give it high marks.

We want a self cater apt with a kitchen

Yes, I understand that. The hotels I mentioned offer self-catering apartments with kitchens in addition to regular hotel rooms. At Hotel Residence, the two bedroom apartment is in the same building and comes with breakfast. The living/dining room has a full kitchen at one end. That room is very large by European standards. The apartment at Gletschergarten is in a separate chalet style building. There is a floor plan of the apartment on the hotel website. Of course, if you can find a private apartment for your 4 nights it may be even better priced. You could look for reviews on Tripadvisor if you cannot find any information here.

Lesley: You might try Hotel Blumlisalp ( http://www.bluemlisalp-hotel.ch/ ). If you're driving, it's about three or four minutes from the center of Grindelwald, to the south. However the bus stops very close to the hotel, in fact, if you step out to the road and wave, they will stop for you. Have a great trip!
