has anyone ever used an agency like stayamsterdam.com to find a place to stay? I just would like to know if they are trust worthy , or a scam.

Not familiar with them, but I have noticed more apts available on VRBO this year for Amsterdam.

I used www.booking.com last April to book a room at the Abba hotel for the 3 of us. I liked booking.com b/c I changed my mind 3x to different hotels w/o penalty (read the restrictions)and you could see the prices, which are sometimes reduced on some of the hotels as you get closer to the date.

I am staying at Bema Hotel Amsterdam, in one of their apartments. I have seen all good reviews from traveladvisor-- and they were listed in the Let's Go- Amsterdam on a budget book I picked up. I had a personal email within 12 hours after I booked, so that gave them points imo. :-) Hopefully, it will be as nice as it appears.
