Hi, It seems that 2 agencies where I was considering renting an aptmt. in Paris have what I would call a surprise. They expect the renters to buy renters insurance before we can rent their aptmts. Agencies: Lodgis.com and paris-hideaways.com. Although the aptmt. owners carry their own insurance..they expect the renters to buy insurance before occupancy....and to pay a security deposit
upon arrival..which in Lodgis.com's case it may be equilavent to our total stay for 6 nights which I find very
excessive. During my many, many aptmt searches..these 2
rental agencies were the only ones that required renter's
insurance. In fact, I didn't find out about the Lodgis.com
renter's insurance requirement until I read their Frequently Asked Questions segment on their website.
Have you had to buy renter's insurance for aptmts in Paris?
If you have, was it costly?...and was it worth it?...My thinking is, perhaps it would be best not to book with these 2 agencies.
