I will go to Barcelona in late August to Early September with two to three other adults all quiet people.
would like information on apartment rentals re: location. Any experience with Barceloneta? recommendations?
i used www.friendlyrentals.com Got an excellent apartment and service from them we stayed in El Raval area, it was quite noisy at night.
My sisters went last august and used www.apartments2stay.com and also had excellent service. try vrbo.com they have lots of apartment in Barca. i really like the barri gothic/el borne area.
Last summer we stayed in Barceloneta for one week and loved it! The location was fantastic. We found the flat through Friendlyrentals.com .
Honestly it was a bit loud at night, as Barceloneta is a party town in Summer, but we loved it anyway. I don't know how it would be in late summer/early fall. The metro was about a 5 minute walk, but the bus stop was rights around the corner. We also walked to Las Ramblas and the Columbus monument. All very doable with a 7 year old. This summer we are going back with a larger group and can't find a flat in Barceloneta that can accommodate us, so we found a flat through vrbo.com in the Eixample area, which last summer we told ourselves we wanted to explore more. I don't imagine it will be as convenient as Barceloneta, but the Barcelona metro system really is fantastic so we will probably spend more time in the Metro. Hope this helps, and no matter where you stay, Barcelona is fantastic!
We used easysleepbcn.com a couple years ago and had an excellent apartment in the Eixemple area. Metro stop was just around the corner, great market a block away, La Sagrada about a 10 minute walk, quiet at night.
Apartment was stylish, well-equipped, with a huge bathroom! Perhaps the best apartment we've rented in our European travels.
Stayed in an apartment from barcelona-home.com. Was very nice and easy to deal with. Ended up renting a 2-person room out of a 10-person apartment. Very nice, though, got to meet people from all over Europe. Reminded me of the movie, L'auberge Espanole" :)
