Does anyone know of any apartment rental companies comparative to the Paris/France ones? I'm particularly interested in Berlin and Munich but am open to suggestions. I plan to stay at least two weeks to a month. Thanks -
My husband and I just rented one in Miltenberg (just under an hour from Frankfurt) this past March and it was a wonderful experience. I found the apartment on www.holiday-rentals.co.uk. The owner and I corresponded and set everything up. On our next trip to the UK and Germany I plan to use the website again to find apartments for those vacations.
Karen, thank you - this is a great web site!

Hi Brianna,
... As you probably know, VacationInParis is a USA company with HQ in New Jersey. Above is their apartment rental web site. You could call them to ask if they have any recommendations for apartment rental agencies in your German cities. VacationInParis toll free phone number is in their web site. If they can be of assistance, they will.
Gute Reise! P
Someone recommended this in another part of Rick Steves web site... P
I had the best luck by going to the cities' website (like munich.de) and looking around for the apartments. For whatever reasons, there were a lot more apartments listed on the German versions of the sites than the English one, at least in the cities I was looking at.
We found Old Town Apartments (http://www.ota-berlin.de/) through booking.com
OTA is a company out of Poland with properties in many cities. The apartment that we rented in Berlin was perfectly located close to a "U" connection so we were able to easily reach "everywhere" in both east and west Berlin. There were 6 of us in 2 bedrooms plus the queen size fold out couch. Kitchen with table/chairs stove, microwave, fridge, utensils and balcony. TV, wireless, bathroom. No mints on the pillows or fresh flowers, but neat and clean. And the staff was helpful, pleasant, even friendly.
