Any recommendations on where to find short-term apartment rentals in Paris? Good websites or particular landlords/buildings? For two people. Thanks! Diana
Diana - We used VacationinParis.com last summer. They have aparments all over Paris.
You might try Paristay (http://www.paristay.com/). Another option could be HomeAway (http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rentals/france/paris/r1216).
We stayed here this summer for two weeks. Worked for us and really cheap. See: Nadine's Studio 30 sqm Paris 9e near Montmartre/Opera E-mail : [email protected] Website : http://locationparis9.canalblog.com
We rented two apts this summer through ParisAttitude.com and had a good experience with them.
Diana, we used Homelidays. com to find our 1 bedroom apt in the top of the 15th. It was near two Metro lines, was in a quiet neighborhood (very important!), was close to lots of great restaurants and shops, and we only had to climb a few flights of stairs. We picked it because of the location and price (only $90EU/nite for 5 nites.) In Europe we usually use either Homelidays or VRBO.com.
We used VacationinParis twice and they were great.
We're going to Paris next May (will it ever get here!!!!) and we rented through Home Away.com
We rented an apartment for 10 days through VRBO. One thing about renting directly from the owner is they are sometimes willing to negotiate the price. I have been able to do that a few times.
We rented an apt in Paris through HomeAway this summer (I believe they bought, or merged with VRBO) and were pretty disappointed. The price was decent, but property not as described. I see now that when renting through an agency you can choose from properties which are "vetted" rather than just sold to you by the owner.
We've used Iloveparisapartments.com for our last two visits. Excellent apts. They seem to specialize in the 6th arrondissement which is where we prefer to stay.
Paris Vacation Apartments http://www.parisvacationapartments.com/ We are staying with them next month, but they are very helpful and quickly respond via email. A co-worker recommended them to me.
Hi Diana, Last year my sister and I stayed in a great one bedroom apartment in the Marais. Found it through www.rentalfrance.com. It was 2 mins to Metro Rue St Paul and also within walking distance to most sights. The apartment was '37 Rue St Paul'. Excellent service and communication from rentalfrance and would highly recommend them.
We have used a company named Holidays-France-Rental.com. Have had wonderful experiences in both Paris and one of the houses in the S of France. Bernard is very helpful. Please contact us if you have any questions. We will be using them again, for probably the 6/7th time in May for both a Paris and the house rental. Cheers, Doris, Shoreline, WA
We leave next week for our 1 bedroom in Rue Cler. Chose Vacation in Paris because of all the great reviews. They are based in New Jersey so you can call their office and get all your questions answered (by people who have stayed in the apts. and know the areas). Also, they sent me at least 10 email references for each property I was considering. I emailed them all and got lots of great advice about shopping, eating, public transportation, etc. My key arrived weeks ago so I won't have to worry about meeting someone there. Rates are listed in $ and you pay with your credit card before you go. Can't wait!
We love Vacation In Paris because they are US based, send you the keys before you leave home and all their apartments have information manuals with the apartment information. Using them again next May. Great service and they literally have apartments all over Paris.
We have also used VacationInParis and would recommend them. One big advantage - they are flexible in terms of number of days, unlike many other agencies and owner-based rentals (like VRBO) which may only rent by the week, Saturday to Saturday. Also with ViP you can pay by credit card, in dollars, and don't have to fiddle with transfering euros into a foreign bank account.
We rented a 3 bedroom apt in the Latin quarter through vrbo.com. It was excellent for a family. The Rue Mouffetard market is 2 blocks away - this is where the Julia Child scene from Julie & Julia was filmed. We were able to walk to everything, and shopped at the market each day.
My personal experience with Paristay.com is an ongoing nightmare that has completely overshadowed my trip with stress. Stay away from Paristay and save yourselves the grief!
