Our family of 4 (including 16 year old twin boys) will be in Paris early July 2008, and I'm keen to book an apartment. Looking at sites, I've found a USA based company www.VacationInParis.com with reasonable apartments. We are from Australia, and wondering if anyone has dealt with them. I like the fact that they don't ask for a security bond the equivalent of the stay, but concerned about representation in Paris if something goes wrong.
Any other tips on apartments, and ideal location would be great.
We are thinking a week in Paris before flying home. Is this too long? The previous 3 weeks will be in Italy, hopefully including a few days in Switzerland.

A week in Paris is not too long! For many places a week would be too long, but not there. But I should mention that I'm a Paris fan(atic)--others might think it is too long. My wife and I were there once for nine days and then on another trip for five days, and we still haven't done everything that is on our "really want to do" list.
Paris enchants and her charms hold you in thrall for much longer than a week. As too apartments we have had good experiences with Parisbestlodge.
Hi Marina--we used vacationinparis last March and were very happy with their service. The apartment was lovely, but we were a bit confused about using the washer and dryer, so we called our local contact, who turned out to be an expat American living in Paris. The apartment instruction manual contained both his cell phone and home phone numbers, so we had no trouble reaching him. All was very smooth and professional. We would definitely recommend them. We stayed in one of their apartments in the 7th, and we thought the location was ideal--very near musee d'Orsay and some very good metro/RER lines. A week in Paris sounds wonderful!
