Sorry to pepper the board with apartment questions, but I am trying to find an apartment with air conditioning! This one is in the 17th arron. and closest metro is Charles De Gaulle Etoile. Can anyone tell me if this is a safe area and how I can tell how far we are from the tourist sites using the metro? Am I missing anything? Thanks

You could email ParisPerfect.com-with your questions, and I am sure they could be of help. Have used them twice. Last time in Paris, I stayed in the 17th and really enjoyed it-very family oriented, but yes, I used the metro for tourist areas.

That's quite a high-class area, but risk of pickpockets in the street due to the number of tourists and shoppers around. It's one of the metro centres, so great for travel.
